Cobbled Cities: Bath and Edinburgh

The Hall & Woodhouse…

Located in the centre of Bath, this place is very atmospheric either with friends, family, or with a loved one. I remember even the chips were the best fried potatoes I’d ever tasted, with a side dip to die for – gourmet food at it’s best in a trendy environment;

We loved it here so much we had to return with friends for a “couples” meal one Saturday night…

A magical place to visit around Christmas time and hidden in the heart of picturesque Monkton Farleigh – just 5 miles from Bath, is a place called Kings Arms (now known as the Muddy Duck Bath.) This pub locally sources seasonal unpretentious food – my best dish was the fresh home made special mushroom soup on arrival.

Please stay here if you are visiting Bath!!!

More recently, I discovered the fabulous Capital of Scotland which I found very similar to Bath with the cobbled streets and cosy bars and restaurants…

More recently in May 2015, we visited Edinburgh for my best friend’s hen do; we decided to celebrate at a fabulous restaurant called Blonde – Sea Bream with Mac&cheese went down a treat amongst all the hens.

To say we enjoyed the food is an understatement! Thoroughly recommend this place for your next Scottish visit.

Now to finish off our weekend in the city we tucked into the best fish and chips ever tasted in our 25 years of living – followed by a fabulous chocolate dessert -thank you  ALBANACH BAR.
