The Pheasant Inn

Situated in Higher Burwardsley, Cheshire, lies the Pheasant Inn pub; a chic yet rustic classic establishment which sits in the perfect location for post dinner Winter walks through Bickerton Hills.

Beautiful building which was stunning at Christmas time with the lighting and decor surroundings;  A lovely walk with these pair in the day…

Featuring fireside dining and garden seats, this gastropub is ideal for excellent food and a bottle of Sauvignon in a cosy setting;

For starters, we shared the baked Brie with cranberry – literally melt in the mouth;

Followed by the scallops with pancetta bits and fresh orange…

3 ladies all happy with their 3 mains – standard Fish&Chips first of all…

My personal best out of all dishes was the Chicken Kiev and gnocchi – a combination I hadn’t tried before and will most certainly have again;

Last but not least, one of us just had to try the burger!

All pleased if they had just remembered the special jam chutney hey Em?!

We obviously finished with the dark chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding but unfortunately there was no time for a photograph for either of these dishes…

In summary, please just go here! Get the walking boots on for your mini hike beforehand to work up an appetite.

Note to self: DON’T leave your car at the candle workshop car park opposite the pub past dark – They WILL lock you in!! But worry no more, as I was with my two best friends we managed to get out of it as always – I think the fantastic 3 course meal helped keep the smile on our faces !

The Cholmondeley Arms is another similar and fantastic shabby-chic restaurant which is worth a try if in Cheshire land!
