Every girl needs a cultural & fabulous hen do at some point in their life, and Barcelona was next on the map!
Reunited with my old friend from university, we thought it was time to party like 2008 – Manchester “freshers style,” but now this time, celebrating a decade later, in 2017 “Spanish style.”
From touchdown on the plane, it was all about sangria, sun & Tapas fun…
Aside from tortilla, spiced prawns and paella traditions throughout the three days we were in Spain, the main meal out on the town was on the Barcelona beach front, at a restaurant called Salt.
As recommended, we took the waiter’s advice and all stuck into the various sharing boards, which consisted of monkfish battered balls in tortilla wraps, spiced chicken wings with lots of dip, and a delicious goats cheese salad.Now for the best bit, mixed burger time!
The general consensus was 8 happy hens all around the table, especially with the ‘deal of the night’ which included free vino for up to 3 glasses. This was imperative to wash down the salmon steak burger below;And the triple cheese beef burger 🍔 A few of us ordered these and the chef accommodated perfectly for those who wanted it well done, medium rare and myself who went all out with rare!Great views of the ocean to our right and great conversation flowing all evening ☺️
Now my only disappointment was the pudding. The cheesecake was not the cheesecake I hoped for, it was more of an Eton Mess without the flavour…And for those who went for the brownie, they weren’t quite convinced either 😦
Nevertheless, the service, starters and main were all on point and we were in a fabulous location to kickstart our night, sipping cocktails in the W Hotel 🍹
