The Blues Kitchen, Shoreditch

Choosing the perfect place to eat in London can sometimes be quite daunting, especially when the pressure is on for arranging a surprise 30th birthday meal.

So first of all, we had to think about the area to dine in that would be suitable for leading on to post- dinner drinks (not an issue in this city), and then we thought which cuisine would be special and different to dine away in – Cajun-BBQ was our conclusion ๐Ÿ’›

As Shoreditch is one of the ‘cooler’ places to go in London, we found this following restaurant ideal and pretty soon came across The Blues Kitchen – eclectic, spacious and offers areas for live blues music, dancing and of course, Cajun-BBQ dining; branches are based in Camden, Brixton and Shoreditch…

The Setting:

With long wooden tables in an urban and industrial setting, this ‘blues’ type restaurant maintained the real Cajun feel in North East London.

The Menu:

Now for the best bit – food choices! For starters, our party ordered a few of the “Wings & Things” platter, which consisted of buffalo wings, barbecue pork ribs, burnt ends, brisket chilli, sweet potato fries, dips and of course tortilla chips ๐Ÿ˜ Oh, and the dip was the most delicious Parmesan & spinach flavour.

The Main:

From a tough choice as seen above, I ended up selecting the Catfish & Prawn Jambalaya for my main course, which came with an authentic Cajun spiced sauce and served in a black hot pot, adding to the cultural dish.
As the cocktail menu is so exciting, I’m going to leave the list as a surprise for you to discover on your next visit ๐Ÿ˜‰ I will reveal though that the Lychee Martini is a must-have for the fruity fans out there who just love that refreshing drink with a kick ๐Ÿธ

And it has to be revealed that the Evening Standard voted this place as below:

London’s very own home of BBQ, Blues and Rock N’ Roll โ™ฅ๏ธ

So there you have it – The Blues Kitchen – ideal for that extra special & authentic experience in North East London, and a great shout for the 30th Birthday Boy who had to down a vanilla milk-shake filled with some exciting & unique alcoholic shots.

Perfect place for a perfect meal ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿฅ‚
