The Wharf

The Wharf is the perfect country pub find in the heart of the bustling City of Manchester, situated on the edge of Castlefield.

The restaurant is full of cosy rooms and alcoves, buzzy open areas & a spacious outdoor terrace which is ideal for this 2018 heatwave of a Summer!

It was ‘games night’ on the Thursday night we arrived which looked very inviting so I will definitely be joining in on my next foodie trip to The Wharf. But for now, it was all about the food…

Voted in the Good Pub Guide over the past consecutive five years, this Brunning & Price chain I regularly blog about has delivered another great restaurant in a prime location.

As you’ll find from Brunning & Price restaurants, their passion lies in finding quality fresh ingredients and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way. With a wide array of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world, there is always an enticing dish for everyone.

I ordered the grilled sea bass fillets with crab croquettes as photographed above. Priced at £16.95 towards the higher end of The Wharf food dishes (excluding the priciest fillet steak dish priced at £26.95!), this meal came with some of my favourite ingredients including pea purée, and oven-dried cherry tomatoes.

As always, the flavours matched the gastronomic presentation of the dish! A large white Sauvignon always washes down a white fish dish nicely…

My friend ordered the Cheshire cheese, potato & onion pie which you’ll see in the image above sat directly ahead of the sea bass. Another pleasing meal which I’d highly recommend on your visit to this restaurant – the Brunning & Price pies never fail to deliver!

The pies are usually priced around the £12.95 mark and this one in particular came with roast vegetables, carrot purée and red wine jus.

With Manchester being a place close to my heart from uni days & now being drawn back to the City after my recent house move near South Manchester, stay tuned for a lot more food reviews in the area coming soon…

#HouseWarming at my new place below & smiles all around thinking of the new restaurants to trial this H2 2018 🍴👯‍♀️🥂
