King Street Townhouse

Who’s looking for a cosy & festive dining out experience in the heart of Manchester this Winter?

With Christmas now just 8 weeks away (I know!), King Street Townhouse is just the venue for snuggling up with your loved ones and enjoying premium quality food in a lavish 1800’s hotel setting.

As part of the Eclectic Hotel Group, King Street Townhouse was acquired by The Hut Group online retailer earlier this year, and have upped their game with the innovative experiential type of events taking place on their rooftop infinity pool, top floor terrace and most importantly, fine dining offered to a high standard.

The dining area at King Street offers a candle lit & chic vibe on the ground floor; if you’re looking for a more private restaurant experience you can also dine in ‘The Cellars’, a dimly lit, bespoke dining area situated underneath the venue where I gladly got to sample the 5 course tasting menu and wine flight…

Amuse-Bouche:

After ‘drinking the stars’ from our sparkling Montaudon Brut Champagne intro bubbles, let’s kick-start the 5 course menu with the Amuse-Bouche offered to us at the beginning of the meal.

Sweet apricot jelly topped with a scoop of soft cream cheese! Delicious start to the tasting menu.

Starting Courses:

We were each served a ‘King Street Townhouse Americano’ cocktail to accompany the amuse-bouche; this will wash down nicely for all the aperol spritz fans out there, but may be a little sour/strong for those who aren’t too partial on this alcoholic beverage.

The starter dishes consist of an array of flavours, beginning with the truffle seasoned soup; a hearty generous portion of lobster topped with a lightly chargrilled black crisp, and a comforting warm bread roll which came with a scoop of salted butter.

Wine Flight:

With the food courses now coming out and each described in detail by the highly trained staff, the wine flight was in full swing and consisted of a selection chosen from Spain, Austria and France. The white wines were light and crispy, whilst the red was full bodied and accompanied the red meat dishes to perfection.

Meat & Fish Courses:

The Beef was cooked just how I like it; medium rare (a little more on the rare side) and exceptionally tender. This meat dish was balanced well with a celeriac sauce on a lightly battered mini arancini ball which was packed with flavour.

The Fish dish was surprisingly my favourite (usually a red meat fan!) and was served on a bed of creamy mash potato with buttered vegetables; simple ingredients such as the lightly salted carrot with spinach were seasoned well to complete the white fish dish.

Pudding:

Now for the majority favourite – pudding time! And you can’t really go wrong with a vanilla iced cheesecake…

All Day Dining Menu:

Now for the ‘every day menu’ this Season…

Your All Day Dining Destination

The Eclectic, contemporary, all-day dining hotels serve classic favourites crafted from local, market-inspired ingredients alongside smaller sharing plates, as well as an indulgent Afternoon Tea; clearly the most desired dining destination for everyday occasions this season.

Take a sneak peak at the every day menu in full;

The main dining area at Kingstreet Hotel is named ‘The Tavern’ and really lives up to its lavish decor in a cosy setting; showcasing soft lighting, plush booths and an all round perfect spot to even grab a coffee and crack on with emails as a premium work spot.
